Purnima and Amavasya in the 2027 Marathi calendar
Purnima and Amavasya appear as tithi names and as part of observance names. Those uses need care. A daily tithi row describes a Panchang entry; a festival line can apply a further observance rule.
The table lists civil dates whose detailed daily record explicitly contains पौर्णिमा or अमावास्या. It does not infer a missing label from a number or rename every full-moon entry as a particular festival.
Explicit labels in the daily records
| Month in 2027 | Purnima-labelled dates | Amavasya-labelled dates |
|---|---|---|
| January | 22 | 7 |
| February | 20 | 6 |
| March | 21 | 8 |
| April | 20 | 6 |
| May | 20 | 6 |
| June | 20 | 5 |
| July | 19 | 4 |
| August | 17 | 2, 31 |
| September | 15 | 30 |
| October | 15 | 29 |
| November | 14 | 28 |
| December | 13 | 27 |
Read each number within its month
A number in the January row is a civil day in January 2027. It is not a tithi number or a time. A dash or missing label in another publication should not be filled from this table without checking its daily record.
A lunar tithi need not begin or finish at midnight. When comparing adjacent civil-day rows, read their end times too. If the name is repeated, do not delete a row simply because you expected one label on one date.
A festival name can be more specific
The January front-calendar entry names Shakambhari Purnima on 22 January. That is more specific than the general Purnima tithi label. Other months can attach a different observance to a full-moon entry.
Amavasya event labels include words such as Darsha and Somvati. Keep the complete wording when copying the observance. Removing the extra word can make a date list less useful for someone seeking that particular record.
Use the detailed row for timing
Open the relevant monthly page and check its lunar month, paksha and tithi end. A civil-date summary is useful for navigation but cannot show every condition needed for a religious decision.
IMD describes the Rashtriya Panchang as a calendric reference that includes tithis and lunar information. Its publication is a separate source to consult. The date table here comes from this website’s own supplied records and is not an IMD certification.
If the image and its table disagree, report the month and both readings. A general Purnima list should not be treated as the date rule for every regional festival.
